About Minis Rugby
Narrabeen Rugby begins with our Minis teams which are open to girls and boys aged 4 to 9 years old.
Our U6 – U9 age groups or minis competition operates under Pathways Laws and provide a series of age-specific modified rugby games set out by the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) and Sydney Junior Rugby Union (SJRU)
The philosophy of these modified laws is to focus on the player(s), making the game safer and to ensure the greatest possible participation and enjoyment from playing the game of rugby.
U6 and U7
At U6 – U7 level, players play a TAG style format (i.e. non-contact).
This is intended to be fun, non-competitive and serve as an introduction to the great game of rugby union.
Players will develop fundamental skills, such as catch, pass, and running, which will be critical elements of the game as they progress through the age groups.
U8 and U9
At U8 – U9 level, players are introduced to full time contact (i.e. tackle) format, where greater focus is placed on providing players with the correct technique to allow them to progress to this stage with confidence and with player safety and welfare front of mind.
Fees
- Minis (4 – 7 years) – $150.00
- Minis / Juniors (8 – 12 years) – $185.00

You can access Rugby Xplorer online or use the Rugby Xplorer App on your smart device (available for both IOS and Android).
Before you start, please:
- Check that you can access Rugby Xplorer online or download/update to the latest version of the Rugby Xplorer App
- Apply online for your NSW Government Active Kids Program voucher
- Record your child’s height (cm) and weight (kg)
- Have your credit / debit card (Visa or Mastercard) ready
